Content Creator

Weave engaging stories that resonate with our audience and uphold our mission of grassroots journalism for social justice.

Responsibilities:

  • Create original content, including articles, videos, and social media posts.

  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm content ideas.

  • Ensure content aligns with Weave News’ mission and voice.

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing and storytelling skills.

  • Creative mindset with attention to detail.

  • Experience in content creation for digital platforms preferred.

Business Manager

Keep the wheels of Weave News turning by managing our operations and finances.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day business operations of Weave News, including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.

  • Implement effective business strategies and operational procedures to ensure financial health and organizational growth.

  • Prepare briefings and reports for team members and the leadership committee.

Qualifications:

  • Background in business management, finance, or a related field preferred

  • Excellent organizational and strategic planning abilities.

  • Affinity for non-profit management and foundational knowledge of fundraising strategies.

Digital Editor

Curate and manage our digital content, ensuring our online presence is as professional and impactful as our stories.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and format digital content for publication on various platforms.

  • Ensure consistency in style, design, and user experience across online content.

  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a high-quality digital presence.

  • Assist in maintaining content schedules and ensuring timely publication.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in content management systems and social media platforms.

  • Strong attention to detail and an eye for design and user experience.

  • Familiarity with SEO and web analytics is a plus.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt content strategies for different audiences.

Administrative Assistant

Help us stay organized and effective in our day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Weave News operations by managing schedules, correspondence, and records.

  • Assist in organizing meetings, events, and outreach efforts.

  • Provide clerical support to the team, ensuring efficient office operations.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and autonomous working style.

  • Proficiency in office software and strong communication abilities.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and time management.
