AMANDA SALGUEIRO
Amanda Salgueiro is currently the Contributing Editor for the Confluence/Confluencia series and has also served as a Social Media and Digital Content Intern Creator for Weave News. Originally from C. dos Goytacazes, Brazil, she is pursuing a double major in Global and Environmental Studies at St. Lawrence University. Salgueiro hopes to devote her work to a praxis of environmental justice and solidarity education that can spark changes in our current systems of inequality.
In biomes hurt by urban sprawl and agricultural advancement, understanding the potential of solutions that integrate human and agricultural systems will help bridge the well-being of the population and the environment. That is why agroforestry has attracted the attention of farmers, researchers and policy makers in the last decade as a new horizon for forest conservation in tropical regions like the Atlantic biome.
